WEEK 1
we had our first teams meeting to do briefing about the module and the next day we had our first face to face class where we got introduction of our lecturers and started our lecture about everyday design and how everything is made with design and how I also has meanings to every design. the way we see it, the way we assume and the way we found out about the true meanings all matters to make a design work
Visuals definitionBasically, visuals are everything that can be seen. The definition of visuals has wide coverage, including nature. Nature itself is not human culture unless there is attachment to it. Therefore, visual is whatever we are able to see that has been made by human beings to mean something. It serves a purpose, communicates meaning, and helps express ideas.

WEEK 2
This week, we have online class on Thursday and offline class on Friday. On Thursday, Mr. Charles and Mr. Asrizal briefed us about the group assignment for the proposal. We asked questions on teams.
The briefs we got:
- Instead of making things related to Japanese fashion, we could take inspiration from the design and try to insert it into our own culture or Malaysian culture.
- Smartphone app isn't the right choice since it might be jumble.
-
For 3 main ideas, we need to make 1 rationale
- Batik zori sandals, which is the combination of Japanese and Malaysian culture.
- Rokku and angura kei inspired batik.
- Mori kei lady parasol.

Everyday Design Ideas
Data collection and Research
Final Result
Experience
during this module, I get to analyze my surroundings around more. not that I don't do that, but it has become more of a habit than something that I do occasionally. I also get to explore many ways on how batik is made to and for in certain area of Malaysia. doing this project helps me expand my creativity to create something new for everyday design, like how the zori batik sandals that you can use everyday while implementing Malaysian batik and Japanese zori sandals at once.
Observation
I see that other students are very creative on how to implement everyday design with Malaysian Cultures and other cultures, that could help design improve each day, in a way that I couldn't even think could possibly work
Findings
I find that Batik is a very underrated considering how hard and complex the process of making is. and how it is very underappreciated.
