Lectures

on the fifth week, we don't have physical class so we did a meeting in ms. Teams. Mr. Fauzi chose one out of the 3 composition that me make and the final digital collage that he chose will be continued to add affects and adjustments. on the second meeting. on the second meeting he gave us some explanations about blending mode and how it can be used to make reflections, special effects,  shilouette and many more. regarding that explanation, he hopes that we can implement it on our week 4 task and week 5 task.

Tutorial
DEMO

1. Match lighting. Adjustment layers, Filters.
2. Photoshop Pen Tool.
the tutorial provided 3 videos and to summarize
  1. how to remove background = use one tool to trace around the outline >fill it, or make the option fill from the beginning > go to the layer>while holding shift click the selected layer> invert the selection> then go to the layer where you want to remove the background>then erase OR you could use refine edge and adjust again to get back the small details needed
  2. how to quickly fix skin tones = you go to adjustment> curves and pull the curves to the top> select subject> Ctrl + backspace > Ctrl + I (for invert)
  3. how to put adjustment to a single layer = clipping mask.

Week 4

EXERCISE
Working with layers.
Adjustment Layers & Filters.

I asked Mr. Fauzi if I could move the elements a little bit and he says that I could but I need to put some extra note of what I moved. I did a little bit positioning to align it better with the composition and also turned everything back before any filters and blurs. I also added a white stroke for the leaf.

WEEK 3 - PEN TOOL EXERCISE (BEST COMPOSITION)

DESCRIPTION:

When making this collage I thought of an underwater city on the dress up game that I used to play so I used the blue buildings as background positioned diagonally and the other building clipped mask with the liquid texture with soft light blending mode. The plants are like those aquatic plants and the old projector looks like it sank to the bottom of an ocean. It kind of following the rule of third composition too since the fish position is on the top right square and the bluer fish in the bottom of the rule of third line.

WEEK 4 (ADJUSTMENT LAYERS & FILTERS )

fig.2.4. final digital collage after adjustments and filters (21/10/24)

DESCRIPTION:

I put blur on the people so the object can be more focused, which is the fish. And then duplicate it for a motion blur. I color a whole layer dark blue and put hard light as blending mode and put the opacity to 12%. I changed some pictures' color balance 5% so it could look blue. Put a blue clipping mask on the white building with soft light blending mode in 50% opacity. On the second fish/the bluer smaller one on the bottom, i reduce the opacity to 75% and adjust the colors for a little bit

Reflections
I realize that using adjustment and filters could really change the atmosphere of the artwork and the choice of colors gives different vibes. I learned how to use more types of adjustments that I don't use before and get creative with filters that I could use to finish my digital collage
