Week 8 (Independent Learning Week)

we are instructed to start working on our poster as it will be given feedback on the class next week

Week 9

we had a online meeting on the updates of our work, on this week, we should already have our reference and sketches done. he says that my work could be improved

Week 10

we had a online meeting covering about the after effects Demo and feedback session to whoever needs one. I ask him what I could do in my poster to make it more connected and not messy and he suggest that I study my poster reference and arrange the word first before putting the image.

Tutorial

Students are required to create a poster design composition using elements of photography, typography and vector graphics.

Practical

I did a lot of research using pinterest but only managed to saves some on my pins

I'ts really hard for me to decide what kind of concept that I want and I see this poster

This may contain: a poster with the words, it will get better right? and an image of a woman's face

I think of using this as my heavy reference and took picture of my eyes and use it like the reference, but for the quotes, goes "Eyes speak louder than Words".

after deciding on what I want to do, I did some sketches to make vision of how i want to position the picture

and goes on to do a digital sketch

then in the same day I got my make up done to take picture of. myself using my Camera. which is the Canon EOS 90D. I put the camera on my window on top of my pencil to try getting it on my eye level when I'm sitting on a chair. I used natural light from the sun and took some pictures of my eye. When taking picture, I position my eyes in the middle of the grid

I picked the picture that I want to use and start to edit it back and forth with illustrator and photoshop. While trying to figure out the perfect font, I adjust some position and colors, added some texture and lots more

I took the texture from Pinterest and ask chat GPT to give me a poem to as a decoration to make it look like its an old letter kind of editing.

on week 9 feedback session, I ask mr. Fauzi about how to make the proportion more tidy and nice to to look at. he says that its better if I position the word first, then the pictures. to also remember hierarchy and make it look more connected like My main reference.

We had another feedback session from mr. Hafiz from IVN class where we private message him and I adjust more on the fonts. I also think that i would be better to put my feelings into the eyes so I put my high school friend who i admire and look up to in every eye reflection.

FINAL RESULT

Description :

this poster tells us that eyes could describe more on feelings that can’t be described by words. On the reflection of my eyes is shown my long time high school friend who I admire and look up to a lot.

Reflections

Experience

During the making of this poster I experience a lot of frustration and challenges. Especially the part where I have to match the pictures that I got with the quotes that I chose. It really took a lot of attempt to get the result I really wanted and it also took a lot of feedbacks. I also struggle communicating with my lecturers as the schedule are on different days and if I were to ask on lecturer about one thing few days later the work will be different so I didn't get a maximal feedbacks.

Observations

I did my observations on other student's work and I really like their work. It make me wish that I should've chose their quote maybe it could make my life easier also do better because I'm confident with the quote that they chose, I can do it better. But, I already changed my quotes 3 times so I'm sticking with my quotes.

Findings

I found that there are many variations of poster that I could've done if I done further research. I also found that making poster in design is something different from poster that I did in the past during my high school time
